Default RE: Guage Mount Question

I had the same question on my 360 Magnum in my Ram. I had an electric gauge and sending unit so what I did was pull the pan and drilling a hole slightly larger than my sending unit about 2 inches above the drain plug. I then used a nut and washer on the inside of the pan to hold the sender in place. Once this was done I used JB Weld around the nut and over the washer. I let this solidify nicely before putting the pan back on. I can now pull the ending unit and replace it if I have to and if for some reason I damage the sender and it leaks, having the hole 2 inches above the drain will at least let me keep that much oil in the engine preventing me from draining it all.

Good luck and hope you can find a place that does not need you to drill the pan.
