normal oil pressure?
had to change my oil in my dakota today since its been puking oil out from the drain pan bolt for 2 weeks now cause i did something stupid... brought it to a quick lubey place.... idiots.... well.... i threw in a quart of Lucas oil sh** and 3 quarts of my beloced castrol gtx.... oil pressure is higher then what im used to... and this crap is thick... like 80w-90 gear oil.... like i know its good and all, like everyone i asked about this stuff said get it... just is the hih oil pressure norm... its like on the white line before 'H'
is the castrol 80w-90 or the lucas additive? did you add the quart before/during/after the oil change? how many quarts are in it currently? is your dip stick reading a normal oil level? need more info.
castrol - 10w-90... lucas oil seems like its 80w-30 ( its thickness not necessarily its vescosity level)... did it all on a new oil change... dip stick is at normal level
is there a reason you are running 10w-90? there will be a noticable increase in pressure when you are moving a fluid with a greater thickness through the same diamater as regular oil. running at a pressure that high will eventually pop a head gasket. no doubt about it.
