i feel like an idiot
i think he said it so you dont
a) burn yourself
b) work on the hot engine cause moetal expands when heated up... so if you take a 'hot' spark plug and put in a 'cold' spark plug... u may cross thread the heads on your engine.... not sure

i said it because when you are working on a hot block, you can easily strip the threads inside of the block because the metal is softer. also, i have seen people crack aluminum block by overtightening when it is hot. never overtighten or work on the block while it is hot. rule #1.

thakota: let it cool down until it is at ambient outside temp. dont rush it, go get a 6 pack and tell some stories with your friends. depending on outside temp and engine temp when shut off, it usually takes between 1 1/2-3 hours to cool all the way down. so crack a cold one and chill out!
horatio, that is a great question, and i dont know off of the top of my head. i would assume they are aluminum, but i am really not sure. i will check it out when i get home.
