OMG GUYS WTF!!! I thought everyone knew this that frequents the site it is a very common problem and I thought I'd see someone with the answer with this many posts. It is the TPS (throttle postion sensor) very easy do-it-yourselfer and I think the TPS is only like 30-35 bux.
www.rockauto.com has the TPS for $31.79 plus shipping. I just bought one per Mean Green's post.
It is right on the throttle body (I believe it's on the right side of the TB), I think you just have to pull the air intake and then you can get to it. You may not even need to pull the intake either but IDK.
Yup, its mounted on the drivers side of the throttle body. Just remove the two mouting bolts. (The sensor is the one located inline with the butterfly valves)
The service manual does mention the following:
"The throttle shaft end of the throttle body slides into a socket in the TPS. The TPS must be installed so that it can be rotated a few degrees. If the sensor will not rotate, install the sensor with the throttle shaft on the other side of the socket tangs. The TPS will be under slight tension when rotated."
It also says to manually operate the TPS to check for binding.
