does it stay high for a long time? does it come right back down? check engine code? does it come back down gradually? have you given the motor throttle while this is happening?

do you increase speed when this is happening or is it just a rev? is the motor actually turning faster or is it just the tachometer reading incorrectly?

cruise control... i think its just downshifting.... in my chrysler cirrus... u put cruise control on at 60 mph... that thing was like spike revving and u felt the trans start to freak out.... when u have it in cruise again... try to concentrate on a shift shock or if u can feel the transmission shifting..................... well then again... wat do u have auto or manual?

its not just in cruise control like i said before. it feels like it actually gives it more throttle. idk exactly. its not just the tach....you hear it. automatic - only thing that came in the r/t's i thought?

Mine Dakota does the same thing. The only time I seem notice it is when I'm on the freeway. The engine and tach will go up about 200 rpm's and drop back down. And it doesn't do this all the time only periodically.
