Default Springs/Torsion bar question

I got a 99 dakota 4x4, i wana lift it a lil bit but no lift kit yet. Do i crank up the torsion bars in the back, front or both? Would I put springs in the front and just crank it up in the back? Thanks for the help guys.

You can get 2 inches out of the torsion bars with no ill effects. You lift the front of the truck and crank the torsion bars 8 revolutions (you gain 1/4 inch for every rev). To lift the rear you need some shackles. I'll have to look around to see what shackles you use since they are not made to lift the Dak but rather to lower a chevy I'm pretty sure.
