whtas the differnce between a R/T and my truck . its a club cab w/ a 5.9l it has the r/t rims and the fender flares . im new to the sight and my truck. ive had it for maybe a month.

suspension, muffler, and ecu tuning. That's about it.

the heads, intake and block are the same, the cam is different though. IIRC, the boost in power is something like 10~15 hp from the normal 5.9 setup.

Cam is the same. IIRC the cam is the same for all of the 5.2 and 5.9s from 98-03. According to dodgeparts.com it is anyway. I read a few different reviews on the R/T and they outlined the differences as being cosmetic, suspension, wheel/tire, ECU tuning, and a bit freer flowing exhaust.

The power difference is in the exhaust and the ECU tuning, that's it.

check your VIN. nearly all 1998-2003 regular/clubcab 4x2s that have "Z" in the eighth position (for the 5.9 v8) are official R/Ts.

i have a "z" in the eighth spot, my truck doesnt say RT any wear on it

The 5.9 was only offered on 2wd reg cab and club cab R/T's, and in quad cab sport/slt versions in both 2 and 4wd. If you've got a 5.9 and it isn't a quad cab, it's an R/T.

Somebody probably took the R/T lettering off.
