Hi to all.
Here's my problem. My Dak went into what I would assume is limp mode. The code I get is P0700.

I have a friend with a wrecked 04 Durango.

Can I use the TCM and solenoid from the 04 Durango on my 00 Dak?
The 04 is Durango 4.7 with Haul/Tow button.
Mine is 00 Dak with 4.7 O/D

I looked for the TCM on the 04 but it doesn't seem to be as easy to find. It's behind the passenger light on my Dak. Where is it on 04 and can I use it?

Question......was it a perm failure or did this just happen because Dodge told me on my old 03 if you are shifting with the shifter or running it hard (racing around) you can cause your truck to throw that code and dump into limp mode but you can disconnect the battery and reset it.....know as a false fail safe to protect the transmission........if it does not reset or drop right back into limp mode and throws the code again then solenoid change time

 

Is the solenoid for 04 the same as 00.

Which transmission do you have on your Dakota....should be listed on the sticker inside your glove box

 

I would take lil's suggestion 1st and reset the pcm. disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then see if the code comes back.

if it does, then look at the p/n's on each module, if they are the same then you would have no problem using it. I doubt it is the same but it's worth a shot...

 

I dont have a sticker inside my glove box. Its a 00 Dak Quad SLT 4.7 (truck says V8 Magnum) Tranny has 123 and OD if that helps.

I reset the computer a couple times already. It works for maybe a couple very light driving days then limps and codes come up again.

Its been unplugged for about 5 days now. I guess I'll go ahead and check the solenoid p/n. The solenoid is the one between the 2 speed senors on the driver side of tranny. Correct ???
