ok so heres the deal. i have a 98 v6 3.9L im looking at doing the exhaust here in about 2 weeks. i would like to do the flowmaster 40 series. i want it to sound good and have a rumble to it. but i've also herd that it makes it sound like a ricer. i dont want that. do any of you think i should step down to the 50 series. or do you think the 40 series will be good?

 

It will a bit at idle but start rev'in it a bit and it sounds like a fart muffler. V6's just don't rumble.

 

i have the 40 series on my dak. at idle at at 3k rpm and below, it sounds like a hearty v8. above 3k rpm, it starts to sound like a v6. whoever said it sounds like a rice rocket is an idiot. it doesnt sound like a v8 throughout the entire rpm range, because it isnt a v8, its a v6.

 

do u think its worth it if i go for the 40 series then?

 

The 40 Flowmaster sounds good on a 3.9L listen to virused, it is just how my 03 sounded with one on it and I loved it.
