2000 4.7 2wd auto CC Lim/slip in snow
Just purchased a 2000 CC 2wd limited slip 4.7 auto in mint condition with low miles. I live in the snow belt and wonder what thease trucks are like in the winter for traction and starting. It has Hercules AT tires with agressive tread that were installed by the previous owner.

I have a RWD club cab with an open diff. It SUCKS in the snow! The first time I had the truck in the snow I was driving back from work in about 6 inches (it dumped very quick) or so and I was going sideways alot. However, I put 300lbs of sandbags in two big plastic tubs with covers in te bed in the winter time when it's going to be snowy and the traction is GREAT.

I prefer putting snow in the bed - when the snow on the ground is gone, the snow in the bed will go away too and you won't have to move 600 pounds of sand around.

thats what I used for my 88 dakota 2wd last winter. I just parked at the end of the driveway and started up the snowblower and blew it all into the bed of the truck. that way it was compacted in there and it gave me soo much traction. and if you have a mild day the compacted snow will take longer to melt. when the highways were closed I had to take the back roads that werent plowed at all and I was hitting drofts as high as my hood scoop and it just kept on going. and that way when the snow starts to melt and you dont need all the weight the snow in the back of the truck will just melt away and your not stuck with 500 lbs of sand.

I put 300lbs total in the bed, not 300lbs in each tub. It's not too bad unless you are a girly man
