Default What are some common inexpensive upgrades I can do to my QC

As I said, I just bought a 2003 Black QC Dakota, but I have no clue what else I need, other than some new floor mats (where can I get some real spiffy ones, for some reason mine came with a Ford one).

suggestions?

The easiest and best thing I have and would suggest to do is put on a K&N (or aftermarket like it) cold air intake.

Here's my next big-ticket purchase;

Cheap horsepower, and it'll help squeeze more power from a cold-air intake.

for under 10.00 you can swap out your 195/203 thermostat for a 180. cooler truck makes power. k/n fipk from ebay 212.00. also a nice catback exhaust. most of us buy the mufflers andf have a shop install them with there piping a lot cheaper than spending 375.00 to 450.00 for the complete kit

Sorry about the broken link. A1 Performance in Houston sells their 3" Dynomax cat-back for 238.98 plus shipping. You can opt for the Magnaflow stainless 3" for about $430. If you can get a better deal at a muffler shop go for it.

As for the colder thermo, make sure that 180 is above the threshold for cold engine/hot engine fuel pattern. I don't know what it is for the 4.7, but if your ECM thinks the engine isn't warmed up it'll send a too-rich mixture and your mileage will suffer.

180 is safe.

160 isn't.
