Default ticking noise

I've got a 2002 Dodge Dakota, 4.7 engine. Service engine light is on and I've got a ticking noise coming from a part that is in between the battery and fendeg. there are two ?vacuum hoses?, and some electrical connections on top to the side. This part is ticking. What is this part?? It is sort of mounted to the "fuse/power box".
Thanks
Barry

Default RE: ticking noise

al-quaida put a bomb in the truck. it is a bad relay. keeps wanting to engage and it wont. possibly a bad ground some where. you need to find out what the relay is for and trace the wires to and from.
