how to install a grill guard and a hitch
yea i bought a =full on grill guard and looking into a class 3 hitch.... i kno i gotta drill but how extensive is it?.... never did it before.. .a good run down on the installs would be nice... thanks
Most grill guards now mount using existing holes. On a dakota I'm thinking you may have to trim teh lower valence. Never put on on a dakota myself but any of the big name guards o come with very good instructions.
As for the hitch. No drilling needed. But you do need a 2nd set of hands since you have to remve the bumper bracket bolts from the frame and sandwich the hitch with it. All holes are already there. Removing the spare gives you more room and you probably will have to loosen it up a bit to get the hitch in position anyways so just remove it until you get teh hitch installed and TORQUED correctly. Put mine on in 20 min.

Most (99%) of hitch's on a days and especially on newer vechiles, their is pre drilled holes and the hitch comes with all the screws and bolts. Most of the hitches (all I have seen) it is mainly three holes on each side (6 total). The hardest thing is holding the hitch high enough to put the screws in. All you have to do is is just find a hitch that is compatible with your vechile. It is pretty simple with the newer hitches. All you will need is the right size wrenches.
sounds good... eh i can do it myself... il just lay on my back.. prop everything up with my legs.... works when your installing an oil pan on a c15 cat motor [:@]... pain in the ***... i saw the predrilled holes on my frame rail i was happy about that... i dont have towing hooks on my dak as i was a bit worried about the grill guard... but the holes are there... thanks

Trust me its easier with a 2nd person. Heres how mine mounts. It sandwiches teh bumper bracket between teh hitch bracket and frame rail. (I have a drawtite)
