use some lucas oil treatment.... my engine doesnt tick anymore... after 1800 miles on the oil treatment.... its like shoving a quart of gear oil into your engine along with 3 quarts of engine oil to dilute it... still the oil pressure is mighty high.. but it worked like a charm

 

check your spark plug wires, if any of your wires are loose or if they're getting damaged the wires will arc and make a ticking noise also. look under the hood with your truck running. do it while its dark out and pull the hood closed on your head. well, not on your head... just tight enough so that it blocks out light and the hood light turns off.

^ i beleive with that... you would have either crummy performance or a shaky engine not recieving a good cylinder fire... if you dont.. lucky you...

 

ok heres the weird part. since that time i herd it ticking it hasnt done it since. i have no idea what it could have been. but its gone. im gonna keep my ears open for it. but now if it does it i have a whole list of things to check lol. never knew so many things could make ticking noises in the engine. i'll just try not to shut my head under the hood lol

 

yea... closing the hood on your head would really ruin your day
