my 99 was the same way. i now have an 04 with the 3.7 and a 5 speed-it will run circles around that 3.9.but as someone else has said, the 6 is good for using the truck as a truck, but it was not made racing.

i am not saying it will help with every engine and mod combo and i had all other mods done before installing this ,and honest to god i was getting 14.5 to 14.7 average mpg before installing the tbs and afterwards i am averaging 16.8
i did alot of research on these before laying out any amount of cash for any of them .

i very well could be wrong and if i am i will be the first to admit my mistake but i am posting a link for 4 wheel and offroad mag where they actually tested these and found they do improve gas milage and torque ,maybe i am totally off base here but i think they do work to make sure i would have to take it out and see what difference it makes

here is the link

I think we can all say until we read on a forum or somewhere about some research about the TB spacers being worthless we were all ready to shell out some cash and get one, but I would imaging your computer was taking time to adjust to the new air flow from other mods to be the real reason for better gas milage the TB space does nothing but take up space.....but I don't believe it hurts anything so hey if you like it there then keep it and be happy.

PS the makers of these products pay for ad space which is a main source of revenue for a mag and so of course some mags will tell you the products are the greatest thing since sliced bread when in fact you are reading what they want you to read and I am sure the mag is not going to bite the hand that feeds it.....

spacers are useless. they dont do jack. only thing they do is lengthen the amount of time the air gets to the cyl. to mix with the fuel. new vechicles wont see anything but a loss in power, and mph in the 1 / 4 mile. older vechicles are what they are good for, like the tornado is junk for newer vechicles but work better on older set ups. as afr as power my 05 4.7 dak does great rolling burn outs at 5 mph, 3.55 with the corporate rear
