Default No power

I'm surpised how little power my truck has, my wife's Hyundai burns rubber but my Dakota has never been able to. I've got new plugs and wires (bosch) new distribuitor cap and rotor, tps sensor, K&N air filter, new Holley throttle body, full synthetic fluids. She runs great but no power. I'm not looking for a drag racer, but some power when I stomp on the gas would be nice. Seems like she needs to build up pressure, and then she goes, WTF!!!

the power to weight ratio isnt eally that super.... the 3.9 is made for the truck.. just to move it... not do any insane burnouts... to get her to spin the wheels, i go into a ncie empty parking lot.. donut time

yeah that's true, I can only make her burn some rubber on turns. She just has a hard time climbing hills, my transmission shifts up and down pretty rough. I've gotten her checked out and the transmission guys say she's fine I even got the tranny flushed, no difference. So much for towing a small tent trailer w/her.

Where are you getting your info from?!? Dakotas do not weigh 5500 lbs unless they are hauling something.

I find that my 3.9 feels sluggish unless I get to about half to 3/4 throttle. I like the passing power of it (say a 30 - 50mph sprint). I do agree that it's frustrating when my truck is empty and I have to either click off the OD or give it more gas and downshift when going up hills.

racin_40 I'm sorry for being a smartass and the giggles that come from installing a TB spacer, if you do a search on them you will find they are a useless product I would imagine your performance and mpg increases are from your other mods, here is a good quote from a user on here nickname "Snafu"

"Throttle body spacer does absolutely NOTHING for a multi-port injection engine. The point of a spacer is to increase the volume in the intake for the older TBI and carburated engine, giving the air and fuel more time and room to completely mix. The newer multi-port system injects fuel right at the end of the intake runner. The only thing going through your throttle body is air. The extra volume does nothing for you because fuel is added later. If you want to match the exhaust, you need a larger bore throttle body."

maybe I sould change my name it lilsmartass hehe
