Default dakota good-dealers bad

New guy says HI. I bought my truck new in 97 -5.2L, 5spd man, 4x4, standard cab, shortbox. This is a great truck! At 101,700 miles and no major problems. Plenty of power and low on wet road traction makes for FUN driving. I love steering with the throttle. My first real issue with the dealer was they crossthreaded some lug nuts when they rotated my tires for the first time. Tell me don't worry we'll fix it next time you come in. (Prayed I didn't get a flat before then!) Second issue was airbag light came on and backup lights were intermittent (truck was 1 year old). Dealer # 1 says bad backup light switch and doesn't know why airbag light is on. Dealer #2 says airbag control module needs to be replaced and that will fix both problems but the module is part of a dashboard assembly and they are backordered so it could be awhile before it can be fixed. 2 months later I'm still waiting for the dashboard assembly to come in and my battery dies. Put in new battery and I haven't seen the airbag light since. Yes it still lights momentarily when I start the truck. Who knew low battery voltage could set off the airbag light? Stupid F$%KS. Waited a total of 4 months before dealer #2 called to tell me the dashboard assembly was in(left message) and when I talked to them the next day the guy threatens me with "If you don't make an appointment today I'm gonna send the part back!". I waited four months for this part and he can't wait 2 days for me to make an appointment. I told him the truck fixed itself and he could shove the dashboard assembly up his A&$!! I was fed up with dealers by now so when dealer #1 gets my backup light switch in(under warranty) I don't want them touching my truck but they won't give me the switch unless I let them install it. GOODBYE. I bought one myself and put it in. I guess thats the best kind of customer service -let the customer service his own vehicle. I had more dealer issues but this is getting long so I will stop for now. This forum is great. Some good humor, some good answers/advice, and some good ol Dodge fans willing to help out. Thanks for listening.

I think dealers use to be lawyers in another life.....they know how to take your money and smile while doing all the time knowing they are screwing you over hehe
