Default Generations wrong??

Hey aren't the Generations for the Dakotas wrong on this site? I have a Gen III Dakota, not a Gen II as according to this site. There should be 4 Generations, not 3.

Gen I ('86-'90)
Gen II ('91-'96)
Gen III ('97-'04)
Gen IV ('05-Present)

I guess I'm confused.

There wasnt enough of a change between 86-96 models to really justify a "new" Generation class....that's why you see the Gen II's being labeled 97-04. Personally, the changes they made from 86-96 really dont warrant a new generation label in my opinion....it's like what they did for the Stratus coupes.....from 01-02 was a specific look....and from 03-05 was an updated but very, very similar look.....so it doesnt warrant a new generation....just a refresher look...

If anything it would be

Gen 1 - 86-91
Gen 1.5 - 91-96
