Hotchkis R/T Drop Info.
So ive been looking into this a little bit, and the TVS kit comes with a sport sway bar kit, the R/T models already have this, do i really need to replace it? Will it make any diffrence if i use the stock sway bar with the hotchkis springs. Or would it be best just to go all out and replace everything? Just wondering.
it all depends on what you are planning on using it for. if you want to take it to the strip on a regular basis, or really like the feeling of a tight rear end (no pun intended, but i do like a tight rear end!
) then i would go for the aftermarket sway linkage. will you see a noticable difference? definately, even if you kept your stock hieght. the stock sway bars on the r/t models are suffecient in keeping fluxuations of the rear end minimal, but for the more extreme applications (much like yours user2006, especially with the other mods you are planning (keep me informed of the results, i am dying to know)) the aftermarket sway setup is an advantage both in the twistys and off the line. do you need the aftermarket sway linkage? of course not. but you have to ask yourself another question: did youneed all of the nice mods in your signature? i think we both know the answer to that question.
so in the end, it comes down to your budget, how you are planning on using the truck and how your rear suspension feels to you right now.
but once again, that is just my $.02

no problem thats all i needed to know. My budget on my truck is very slow, i have more bills and it takes me months to save up for parts, like i said i just sold a ps3 some diablo 2 gaming crap and my programmer so i have about 500 to spend, so far i got new tires, new tb, and i gota wait for the suspension till i can get about 1k, but in the long run, im hoping to have a very nice dakota r/t. Im "Hoping" in the long run when i get everything i need and fixed up i can get sponsed by my local car shops, but there are already tons of dak r/ts sponserd so i have alot of comp.
Right now im just trying to beat the local ricers at the sat night street races. After that then ill move up to some strip racing, and so on. Im building up to the big ****, im not rich enough or now enough to jump in with the big dogs yet. lol.
