Default voltage regulator?

Guys,
Does the 98 Dakota have a voltage regulator, or is it mixed in with some other electronics?

By 98 iirc they're all internal in the alternator.

I don't think so. The '01 FSM says the PCM controls current output of the alternator. That's the same thing as my '96.

Haha... yup.
It's that way on the Gen 3's as well. Guess Dodge likes it that way.

Default RE: voltage regulator?

thanks for the responses guys. It sounds like I will have to replace the alternator. I seem to be getting voltage spikes which in turn is making the crankshaft sensor go nuts. The truck is bucking and skipping and just plain running rough.
Thank again,
Dan
