What kind of blocks does one use for the rear? Do you need longer u-bolts?

As far as shocks, can you use the remote coil-over's from rancho? Those look like nice shocks.

Just go to your local autoparts store. Pep Boys, Autozone. Whatever you have. Ask them for 2in lift blocks. THey should come with the new longer u-bolts. Mine did.

Without actually seeing what you're talking about I'm gonna say no to the coil-overs. 4x4 Dakotas don't have a coil spring suspesion. They have IFS so they have T-bars in the front and leaf springs in the rear.

Crap. I just noticed that you have a 99. Do you have front coils on your 99? That might make a difference but I"m not sure. Chances are they don't make any to fit it since its a Dakota and the aftermarket always seems to over look us. Could hurt to look into it though.

Sweet. I think I may just re-key this thing instead of a rancho lift. Why pay more for 1 inch, plus it looks as if the rancho kit doesn't even really replace much. They probably just have a "Rancho" key lol.

I was talking about the RS9000x shock with the built-in coils. I am not sure how to link to it, as it is a flash page. But let me see about attaching this pic.

Thats exactly what I thought. It only cost me around 400 total to lift it two inches compared to 2400 that would only give me one more inch. Not worth it. Some people think it is and thats cool. I just couldn't justify it.

I honestly don't know if those are just shocks with springs on them or if they're coil-overs. They do look different. Don't know if they'd work or not. I'm sure if you contacted them they would be able to help you out.

Just talked to rancho, they can't make one of these small enough. So looks like the best would be the regular RS9000x shock, which is still a nice shock, triple tube design, they are 9-way adjustable, and they have them with the added 2-3" for lifts.

No I didn't install them. I had a shop put them on. It was much easier that way.

Cool,

I will be installing them over christmas since I have a couple extra days off. I might just redo the whole front end while I am in there. New bushings, ball joints, outer tie rod ends, new shocks. mmmmm I can picture it now......

Just wondering. How do you like the RS5000s?
