R/T Muffler

The last few inches of the tailpipe is 3". On my '99, I used a Flowmaster 40 with 3" in/3" out. Replaced all the pipe from the cat back with 3" pipe and used my old tip. Sounded great. Deep rumble at idle and driving normal around town, but roared when I stepped on it. I also had the chrome Mopar headers.
should be, but damnit if mine didn't seem smaller. None of mine was anywhere near 3", of course I've got a 5.9 slt, and not RT. I would highly recommend getting the exhaust custom made from the manifolds back. The OEM manifolds flow pretty well (compared to other stock manifolds anyway) and you can get shorty headers to bolt in at any time afterwards. Go with 2.5 into a 3" y and get a 3" muffler on out.
(pure cosmetic dual) extra weight with no power gain over single out.
430402 = 3" in dual 2.5" out Original 40 series. 4" thick, 9.75" wide, 13" case length, 19" overall length.
9530462= 3" in dual 2.5" out Super 40 Delta Flow. 5" thick, 10" wide, 13" case length, 19" overall length.
I'm pretty sure either would work, it's not like there is much of a space concern where the muffler sits. Pick a quality muffler shop to install the tailpipes though, you don't want crooked or uneven pipes.
