Default Hypertech power programmer

my hypertech power programmer III finally came today i just programed it for 87 octain fuel and....WOW....MAJOR differance in throttle response. I didnt know a dakota was capable of taking off that fast. I'm almost afraid to fill her up with premium and set it on the 93 octain setting. i have one thing to say $280 WELL SPENT not to mention you can correct your spedometer adjust your rev limiter change your top speed limiter and read and diagnose trouble codes I HIGHLY recommend one

You know what, thanks for the nudge. I said "**** it" tonight and hit up ebay and bought a slightly used (but complete, 7k miles) K&N FIPK for $125 shipped and I picked up a new-in-box Hypertech for $263 shipped. Awesome deals, hopefully they'll show up next week and I can get them installed.

So basically I got the hypertech for retail with a slightly used FIPK thrown in free. woot!

Not really the time of year that you'd need it, but I'm curious if your A/C still works after the 87 octane program. Mine wouldn't work, so I went back to stock to see if that made a difference and it worked fine then. So then I went back and only adjusted the tire size and the A/C works with just that being adjusted. Mine is also the 3.9, so not sure if that's an issue.

A/C is a huge deal this time of year for me. I'll let you know.

Ok well color me unimpressed. I flashed the 87 tune since I had a 1/4 tank of 87 left in it. Today I filled up with 92, and reflashed for the 93 tune. pings like a futher mocker. Switched it to 87 tune, still pings like a bastard. I'm going to revert to stock and see if it goes away. I also didn't really notice much of a difference. Maybe my butt dyno is broken. I also installed the FIPK today. There seems to be a little more noise, and between the two there might be a little power gain.

hmm thats weird i know it made a huge difference for mine but then again i have a 5.2 magnum and you have the 5.9 according to you signature. i dunno maby your engine is big enough the power gain isnt that noticable because it already has a lot of horsepower. i have no idea what to tell you

Well after running 1/4 tank of 92 through it in the 87 setting it still pings every now and then, but it's mostly well behaved.

Still don't really notice that it's that much faster. It hasn't done the stupid bounce-off-the-rev-limiter-instead-of-shifting thing since I flashed it, so that right there is a bonus.
