do you have a reg cab?
if you do, good luck

if I were you, I would just go to a car audio place and they can explain it pretty good. and they can tell you what you need and what will sound the best for your application.

Mines an extend cab, and before i went off to school i had two bazooka 10's and a 250 watt amp. Got it all from circuit city for around $169. They aren't high end top of the line woofers but they put out some thump, and thats with a sealed box. All of it really depends on how much space you have for the box. If you want good results from any system remember that you'll have to calculate the inside volume of the box so that the air space meets the manufacturer's spects.

I have a SC 2000 Dak, and i have 2x 10s 400wat Amp and Upgraded deck and speakers. So if you have a SC it is possible. CC even better delete the back seats and make a custom box for 2x L7s or Type Rs and watch the old people next to you at the light give you mean faces.

I work at Best Buy, you can get a decent system, by alpine for about 500 (subs, box, amp, wiring) deck and speakers is abouit another 300-400 Dollors..

If you have a CC you have alot more choices of set ups, Anything from 500-5,000 dollors.

If you have a SC you are stuck with 10's and truck boxes, unless you get custom work done or have a cab cut. get a system from 500-2,000 dollors.

depends on what you want, and how you want it to sound, and ho much dirty money you have in your pocket.
