Default changing oil suggestions

i have a i just changed my oil under my 2000 dakota and i noticed that they did a poor job of leaving room forthe oil to pour straight out so on and so forth. after getting oil all over me, the truck, and the ground. i figured i would come here and ask if there is any suggestions on how to make the oil drain more simple with less of a mess or will i just have to rig something up to make it less of a mess? thanks

I am assuming that you are referring to the oil filter swap. You can simply hold a syphon connected to a hose to be able to aim the oil into the oil pan.

aaaaahhhhh i shall try that the next time i change my oil. and i was referring to the complete oil change. draining the oil and the oil filter are both messy as hell to change. i am going to try different things and i will post them up if i find a reall clean way to change them both.
