I have a 2003 Dakota Sport with the 3.9L engine and automatic. What is the redline for this engine?

The Tach has no yellow or red area and I can't find a reference in the owners manual.

There isn't a red line because the fuel cut will shut you down before you get to the dangerous area of the tach.

The tranny is also progammed to shift prior to that happening as well, but we all know that it doesn't always decide to shift. Or mine doesn't anyway. I used my hypertech programmer to increase the rev limiter 500 rpm and guess what... it still doesn't shift sometimes. Today the tach bounced off ~5800 rpm a couple of times before I lifted to allow it to shift.

what about the 5.2 magnum? i have a hypertech programmer and dont want to do anything dangerous for the engine as far as RPM's.

*My brother's 3.9 has been at 6 grand before however he spun a rod bearing doing it*

Thanks guys. I just didn't want to do any damage to the engine. Is there anything that I can do to better my gas mileage?
