Default Torsion Bars 02 - 4x4

Has anyone tightened down their torsion bars (some say traction)in order to level the front end to the same height as the rear? Please let me know if this works, I have seen mixed thoughts on this. Thanks.

Cranking your torsion bars will raise the front 2 inches, but will also make your ride quality very stiff, too stiff for some people. I know of at least one person one here (Daksport1pa)that has replaced the torsion bar anchors with 2" longer ones, that will increase the ride height 2 inches, but does not make the suspension very tight in the process. I will be installing my own set this weekend (and making a little DIY along the way) that were picked up off ebay for about 80 bucks. It is also recommended that you install longer shocks when doing this as well. I went with some Rancho RS9000 shocks that are longer then stock units.

These are what I bought.

i did it and yes it does work ,but only 1 1/2" just to give it a little better stance ,it did make it a touch stiffer from when i bought it but its cool its a truck

i did read that 1 turn equals a 1/4" ,so if your going for extremes remember it will make the tops of the tires lean out so it may need lined up afterwards if you go too far and it will be hard on front axles and the torsion bars

aaaaand, when you actually use your truck for truck-like duties, you're going to be pointing at the treetops.

you have a valid point there ,i use mine for what ever i need ,stone, wood what ever lol
luckily i have which i belive are 1 ton helpers under it
haul a ton of stone this past summer and it barely squated at all ,makes for a little rougher ride but i like it
never witnessed a stocker hauling that kind of stuff so cant say if they are weak in that area suspension wise
