I was reading somewhere.. that the CC R/Ts are harder to find then the SC.. but yet ive only seen like 2 other SC R/Ts around my area.... is there a link or site that i can go to that shows the number of productions of these trucks.. cuz honestly i think the SC are harder to find..

what do you guys think, i also think if your going to be racing with it, why would anyone want a CC? More weight and the will base looks alot longer... i think the short look makes it look more clean and sleek.

I love the look of the CC. the RC just looks too small. its like its missin somethin. around here I see alot of RC R/T's. sure there better for racing. but if your that concernd about weight then you shouldnt be racing a truck. I have nothing against them but the cabs in them are just too small.

and these gen 2 daks will probly hold value pretty good since there the better style of the 3 different generations. and they keep getting uglier as they keep changing the styles of them. and the 3rd gen. R/T is a joke.

Why do people always say that? Why race a truck when cars are faster.. sure cars are built withstand highspeeds, and racing, but if you think about it.. a mach1 stang weights over 4200 a SC dakota is little over 3800 i think, car weights more then the dakota, also the dakota was built with a suspension that can handle like a car, i was taking corners my my house going 75-85 miles an hour with bad tires and stock suspension. Put a better suspension on it and some nice tires i could take them even faster.. just as fast as a car 1in off the ground.. Dakota R/T is a car not a truck, it handles just like a car my moms ecplise has more body roll them my truck, also i like the look on peoples faces when i woop there *** in a truck.. stangs the most.. gt mustangs with there exhuast.. thinking there high and mighty.. and i rip them to shreads.. i hope they go home and cry and buy a T/A or Vette and then woop up on me.. sooner or later i will have my truck built to beat a vette or T/A hopefully. The new vette Zo7 has 650hp.. thats disgusting...

and yes i totaly agree that the 3rd gen R/Ts are a disgrace to the whole dakota family.. lol..

I didnt mean that fast trucks are stupid. I love having a fast truck. the looks on people faces when they hear you blow by them is priceless. I would never own a car. I'm puttin a 318 in my 88 dak in the spring. I'm hoping to get a low 14 in the 1/4 mile. but we'll see how things go. even my 4x4 handles good around corners. my old 88 ranger sucked around corners. I put a 302 ho in it acouple years ago and it was doing low 13's. but the dak can handle the power better and put it to the ground.

The general thought behind not using a truck for racing would be to use something better from the start. Sure you can make a Dakota fast as hell and corner like a civic, but to make that happen you are talking about an amount of money that only sponsered program have. Why would you start with a truck platform that would require so much money and work to get to where most cars are stock? Logic would say to start with a platform that would allow the most gains with the least work.

True, but when you can say that your truck can beat a ls2, wrx, zo6, ext you can actually brag, it takes alot of work, money, and knowledge to get to that area of performance, ya i can go out and buy a car for 100k and say hey my car can beat yours, but its no fun... id rather have somthing that most peoplethink they can beat just buy looking at and thentotally blow there minds when im 5 car lengths ahead of them.. it makes you feel good.

alot of the import guys sink like 10k+ into there car just to make it beat a stock american car. thats what I dont get. the money you would save by buying a faster car to start off with, you could make that car a hell of a lot faster. but the all the stuff I use my truck for I would hate to have a car. you cant fit nothing in the trunk and cant tow anything. I sa if your not gonna use you truck as a truck then why have one. its not practical. only getting like 17mpg when you could have a car that gets 25mpg+ and is alot faster.

I seen a 00 dodge ram 2500 CTD at the track and he ran a 10.0 in the 1/4 mile. now thats something to brag about. a 7000lbs truck beating almost all the cars out there. and the track was filled with black smoke. my dream truck is a 2500 CTD. hopefully one of these days I can finnally buy one. cause the amount of power you can get out of them now is sick.

I see what you are saying, User2006, and I agree to a certain extent. I would love to have a Pinto that pulls sub 9 second quarter mile runs. The point is that when you start with something slow, you will automaticaly have a disadvantage to someone who paid the same amount of money and got a vehicle that is much faster. You will end up dropping a much larger coin to be able to run with them. In the end, I love fast cars, but when it comes to thrills of speed, I learned a long time ago that the true thrill comes when you move up to 2 wheels instead of 4. The fastest car I have ever driven was a corvette z06 that was pushing 20+ lbs. of boost, and it still can't hang with my superbike which cost me $12,800 out the door (& about $2000 in aftermarket parts). That is your true money/speed & performance ratio.

Yeah its all about what you want though. On one hand regardless of money its cool to have a truck that beats most cars. On the other some people don't really care for drag style racing. To me, being a good "racer"is more about negotiating turns and throttle control. Anyone can dump a buttload of monet to drive fast im a straight line. Rally racing is my personel favorite, then probably indy racing. Sheer power will not will all the time. I love

Motorcycles are the best toy dollar for dollar. I scare myself sometimes on my bike and yours is even faster.

Or a car that beats most motorcycles, like an Ariel Atom. This is my favorite toy, besides a jet fighter........
