Default Stalling Out

I have a question for everyone. Out of the blue on my way home today when I pull up to a red light my truck stalls out. The RPM's jump from around 1500 to under 500 and it stalls right out. Anyone have any ideas why it keeps doing it

Yeah my '01 4.7 QC has been doing the same thing for about a month now. It definitely started directly after I had my transmission pan replaced because I smashed it up on a rock while on a trail where I hunt. I have had the truck a little over a year and love it. This is the first real problem (other than the Black factory paint that is oxidizing like crazy now) that I have had. Truck runs great on the run...as soon as you slow to a stop it idles way down. It usually recovers and keeps chugging, but seems to more frequently stall. Throw it in Park, hit the key, and it starts right back up. I am getting pretty good at the routine, but would like my truck to run like normal again. Any help?

I actually have a similar problem with stalling. It usually stalls when the wheel is cranked all the way and moving slow, but occasionally only does it when i tap the gas with the wheel straight as well. Either way the magic key seems to be tapping the gas.any reason why?

check your O2 sensors. i had a hell of time with my truck. it ran great while driving down the road, but when you came to a stop it would die off. the upstream sensor was bad. go to advanced auto they can check it for free on there scanner

first off sorry for not reposting. I think i had trouble with my gas. Before the problem started i had the gas light for 2 days to run the old gas out. IM thinking i had some air in the line or bad gas because I didn't fix anything and it went away. on a other note if i turn the wheel all the way hard right it stalls out after my 31's hit .
