That's why I buy on ebay and wire everything in myself. I'm an electrician by trade so it's no biggy.

Best Buy that i work at is pretty good. These ones your talking about sound like f-ing retards.. If you can wire a harness then you def dont need to be in car audio at all.. all it requires to do a harness is to not be color blind.. how hard is that.

I do all my own installs, and some on the side, including the ones at best buy.

I did a job for some kid that came in and said he only had so much to spend, so instead of having BB do it i did it myself and made about 80 bucks.. so it wasnt that bad. SC Chev 1500 2x 10type e and a 600wat amp.

Thanks guys. I'm still looking for a truck... I need something to haul my raptor around with. If you guys happen to find any nice ones hangin around northern Illinois let me know. I found a few on autotrader that I'm going to check out. The only problem is, I need to wait for my tax return to show up.
Try around Rockford/Belvedere area. With the DC plant in Belvedere, theres usually a ton if used dakotas. Just avoid Speedway Auto Mall. Waaaayyyyy overpriced.

I actually live in Rockford. There are a ton of Daks but I'm dead set on a manual tranny which are few and far between.

i fit 2 8" kicker cvr dual 4ohm voice coil in a custom box. they are pushed by a lanzar 800W max 2ch (briged) amp. i used 5/8 plywood and even made the cuts for the vents in the back. it works great because it allows for air flow around the amp. couldn't have worked out better. the box is bolted to the cab using stock bolt mounts. the 8's are great, they actually sound like 10's.

i wish i could have put 10's in there just because they are 10's but being 6'2" i need my leg space. i suppose if your leg space isn't an issue you could fit 'em there with no problem.

I just made my own small box. It's got about .6-.8 cubic feet of air. I put it behind the passengers seat. There was a jack holder there but i took a hammar and smashed it down. lol.
