Default suspension lift and other questions

Hey guys, thanks so much for all the help with all my other problems, i really appreciate it. So when I bought my 99 Dakota 4x4 5 sp, it had a suspension lift on it and the torsion bars cranked so it was riding level. I have radjusted the bars down, and then back up because i did not like it leaning forward anymore. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to make the suspension less stiff...it is really hard to drive it in my college town with only hills and very bumpy roads. Also, it has been getting really cold out at night. When i start the truck in the morning, its really hard to shift in and out of gears, especially from first to second, and into reverse. Thanks in advance for any comments. Ill try to get some pics up later today so people can see what im working with.
