Default 3.9L with 33" tires

My dad has a 99 4x4 Dakota that he's thinking about trading me for my 96 Maxima. He needs something that gets better mileage and I really like the Dakota. I would like to put a small lift on it down the road and run 33x12.50s. Is any gearing change required for running 33s with the V6, or can I get away with stock gearing without ruining the transmission? It's really not going to see any offroad use besides dirtroads heading to the gun range. Thanks!

that 6 banger will be hurting if you dont gear swap. might want to start looking into price. if it were a standard you might get away with it but auto. i can smell it now

I have 33's on mine with a 3" suspension lift. I have no problems with the gearing; it was slow before. Also, it is really nice on thehighway. Just get ready for that MPG drop.
