new truck q's
Ok, im a truck person, but i am stuck in a neon right now. My neon is dying and i am in the market for a truck. I want a truck that i can take hunting and camping. I am considering a few models, and the dakota is one of them. I want to lift it and run 33's, and i know thereisnt a wide selection of lifts outthere. My question is, would the dakota handle the offroading and the tires. Any comments about personal experiences would help. Thanks, Kevo1123
Yes. I have put my Dakota through the ringer, and back again. She has put up with every bit of it and asked for more. I have her on 33's and a 3" fabtech suspension lift. The MPG isn't too great with the tires, but you would less of a difference with the v8. I can honestly say that I have been very surprised with how well she has done for the amount of abuse I give her.
Now you have 2wd, and it still holds up ok? I was thinking about 4x4 just because i dont want to wish that i had it if i need it. as far as lift kits out there, I have seen 5.5" and such. These would fit 33's, but what brand has the best quality and ride?
Yeah, i think it is the tough country look that i saw. That was for the 4x4. Like i said though, i dont know if i am going to get a truck with 4x4, but i might want it. If i got the 2wd, I would probably just get lift spindles and then possibly a suspension lift later. Are there any other lifts for thedakota ,either 2wd or 4wd,over 4 inches that could handle some offroading or are they all show lifts? Virused said the fabtech lift could handle some, any others or is the market that limited? Thanks for the comments, Kevo1123
Yes fabtech but only made for 2WD...i think rancho makes a 3in lift but you might want to look into that

Well,I will do my research, still dont have a truck yet, might be a couple months (college student budget). Thanks for all the help, suggestions, and comments. I will continue to check to see if anyone else posts anything, but for those who have, thank you. WhenI get the truck I will post pics to show everyone what I ended up getting and doing to it. Thanks again.
