Default heater core

hows it going ppl. i have a 1997 dakota with a 4 banger 5 speed. heater core went bad. its hardto change? i dont k now why im asking cous eim fgonnachange it anyweay just wondeeringing if anyone knew any trickt to mak eit easier. thanks

well..... I did mine last summer and it was a PITA to do. you have to take the whole dash out and drop the steering column. I would reccomend you take the seats out too. then it gives you more room to work with. if you have a/c you will have to take it to a shop for them to drain the a/c system. mine took me a weekend to do. just taking my time. I have to do mine again over the winter since its leaking again. I think I can do it in less then 4 hours this time.

yes it isn't bad to do,drain your fluid first that isn't really a trick butfirst time i did it i didn't think to do this...think you may need a new keyboard too

i would try to flush it out first. i went without heat for 3 years. then i read viruses post, now im cooking! just a thought.
