oil leak!!

Default oil leak!!

Ok so i replaced my timing chain and water pump now i have an oil leak. Its about 4 drips per hour and i can see that its dripping off the transmission crossmember. I looked underneeth and couldnt see any oil spots. Im stumped. Any ideas?

Not saying thisis what you have, but I had a leak in the same place and it was the rear main seal.

Rear main seal sounds about right. Check to see that you don't have a build-up of old oil sitting somewhere, maybe behind the intake manifold, left over from the timing chain job.

Yup it is the rear main seal. PLUS my front axle is leaking at the 2 ends where it connects to the CV joints. How am i going to replace them?

How long have they been leaking? Are they making any noise? You can replace the boots themselves, but if the axels are already going bad, you will be wasting your money.

well see im not sure. It seems as though it is leaking in between the boot and the axle. I know there are oil seals in there. It does howl a little. I just dont know how id go about replacing them. Id probably have to take the axle out, then what?

You know i mean it could be the CV joints. Do they have oil in them? Cuz its deffinitly leaking some type of oil.

Well if your going to do the main seal yourself, you will already be taking out the front diff. So no better time to replace/fix the CV's.
