Ok so i replaced my timing chain and water pump now i have an oil leak. Its about 4 drips per hour and i can see that its dripping off the transmission crossmember. I looked underneeth and couldnt see any oil spots. Im stumped. Any ideas?
Rear main seal sounds about right. Check to see that you don't have a build-up of old oil sitting somewhere, maybe behind the intake manifold, left over from the timing chain job.
How long have they been leaking? Are they making any noise? You can replace the boots themselves, but if the axels are already going bad, you will be wasting your money.
well see im not sure. It seems as though it is leaking in between the boot and the axle. I know there are oil seals in there. It does howl a little. I just dont know how id go about replacing them. Id probably have to take the axle out, then what?
