can you drop the oil pan on these trucks without pulling the engine. and if not will it come out if you undo the motor mountsand justjack the engine up a few inches. I'd look for myself but its only 10 degree's outside and its snowing

It appears you might be able to. However, it is very close to the hyrda lines running to and from the rack (on my 3.9). If you are careful, you should be able to do it without having to hoist the motor.

well crap i went and looked for myself it appears the drag link and the front axel *since my truck is a 4x4* run directly under the oil pan. *shrugs shoulders* any ideas anyone before i embark on the journey of pulling my 5th engine in the past 3 weeks
*edit* well i dug out the trusty hanes repair manual and it says to jack the truck up unbolt the axel then the pan will have enough room to come right off. I just need to check and see if i have any bent rods in my engine because that was the culprit the last time i got a knock.

alright will do i'm probably not going to mess with it untill it gets warmer and my brother gets his stupid blazer out of our shop though.
