ok so i have a set of brand new 6x9 speakers that i would like to put in my truck. I believe that there are 6.5's and 5.25's in the truck currently. It's a '01 club cab. Does anyone know how much work it would take to put them in either the front or back, which ever is easier?
Your not going to be able to put them in the back where the 5.25 holes are but you can put them in the front doors if you cut the 6.5 holes out to a 6 by 9. Just use the 6 by 9 template and get a jig saw. It would take you about 3 hours if you do an outstanding job.
you have 5.25 in the rear. I would be skeptical about cutting holes there, you might run out of room. Besides the rear speakers dont do much good when they are down and behind the seat, they should have made them up higher but oh well.
thanks for the replies, i think i might see if i can snag a new set of 5.25's from work for a good price, and rip apart the rear when i get some time, and then see if the 6x9's will fit fairly simple. if not i'll throw the 5.25's in while it's apart and be done with it. I'd like to get the mtx thunderform but that'll have to wait until my cashflow increases. But i think i want to add the flowmaster on first, i have a weakness for a nice sounding exhaust, it's music to my ears!
jonnymagnum Yes your right i have std. cab and forgot all about that. Your lucky in where yours are placed.
Speaking of flowmaster i have a 40 series single out and it sounds awesome. Its much louder on the outside then the inside unlike some previous mufflers ive had.
