i always just stop and shove in the clutch to put it in 4 low i never put it in neutral I take it yall have automatics

It's best to shift into 4-low while coasting (neutral in auto, clutch in for manual) and rolling at 2-5mph.

And it needs to be adjusted if the shifter keeps popping out, or you may be in need of a rebuild.
