How can you ruin your transfer case?
When you say ruin it on dry pavement it all depends. If you have 4wheel high then no, if you have part time 4wheel then yes. Do some searching on the forums. Drain the fluid out of it and it will die trust me.
Ah, how to destroy stuff.

Or, as imnothot02 and erich_121 said, you can put it in 4WD (if you have part time 4WD) and drive around on dry pavement.

i got a good one for ya. put it in 2 wheel. hold the brake spin the back tires really fast without the truck moving *preferably on a slick surface so you dont kill your tires* then with it wound up SLAM it in 4 wheel and your transfer case will sit there and grind and yeah it should be shelled
I guess he wants to know how NOT to screw it up.
Speaking about 4WD. Why does my 4WD low not engage. 4WD high is fine. I tried switching to it last year, but once I started moving, and shifter went out of place and it started to grind. And it was in the snow, btw.

my gf's dads gen 1 dakota does that. the 4 wheel works great but you have to hold the shifter back with your hand or it will pop out something to do with a spring i think
