I have a 1999 sport 2wd 3.9 i want 200hp at the wheels, seeing how the average is a 25% loss through the auto trany, i'm thinking I need to pick up about 92 horse at the block, how can i do this without a turbo? I allready have the flowmaster exhaust on her, but what else will I need, and which rear-end will I need to put as much as I can to the pavment? If i must go the turbo road I will but seeing as it cuts engine life by 20% I would really rather go another road as this is my wifes baby, and well... if mama an't happy, no one's happy lol!
How many miles do you have on that motor? You may need to replace plenty of seals before you start this whole project, not to mention strengthen up your bottom end if you have extensive milage.

mileage is at 85k now and she will be spending next winter under a giant cotton diaper so if i have to pull the engine to get nutty then so be it. this will be about a year project but a rolling one for the summer. she would be in the garage allready but unfortunally the main driver( the other neon) took a dear smack dead center at 60mph, not one of my better days. I will be more than happy to share the entire build up with all as the 3.9 seems to be the most common power plant( at least in central new york) and I can't find much for build ups so far.

Hey just to give you a heads up I also want 200 to the tires but the best I have done is a 156(although I found out the guy with the dyno didnt put in the vehicle weight) I would be interested in knowing what you do to it........
