Default Shaker hood anyone?

Someone in the gen3 forum found this site, http://www.carhoods.com. On it, I found this gem: http://www.e-bodyparts.com/miva/merc...oduct_Count=10. Just get ready to pull out your check books; at $1099, it is a little pricey for my taste. However, it does come with hood, shaker scoop, air cleaner and ram air box.

How so? Cost? I think the shaker would be more practical, no matter what situation, it is just too expensive.

I can get a primered cowl hood for $450. I'll just haveto paint it my self and see how it turns out.

but atleast you can drive in the rain with a cowl hood. can you with the shaker?

You can drive a shaker in the rain. The cold air goes in the nostrils and around to the back of the shaker and into the filter. It also has a small hole drilled in the lip to let water drain out.
