Default Adding Fog Lights - Easy or Not?

I would like to add factory style fog lights to my 01 dakota. Has anyone done this before? I am thinking about cutting holes where they should be, and installing a factory set from a junkyard.

my 99 was bought with foglights in what looks like a factory setting, turns out the guy before me added all this from a junkyard and tryed to plug them into the harnes. but the truck is not wired at the contol box for fogs. it is a dealer only part and comes with the main wire harnes and is alot of cash, so i ran wire to the cigarette lighter( as i never use it) and just put a switch in, by doing this they will shut off when you turn the truck off.

you could just wire them up to a switch, but then you'll need a realay and that stuff..... I'm getting confused already[&:] I hate wiring

I LOVE wireing. i've wired several sterio systems, offroad lights, cb's, etc... the fun part is hideing all the wires so it looks stock. it wouldnt be hard to wire up a set with your own switch. all you need is a kit for offroad lights and just hook up foglights in place of them

i got a fog light kit from westin, wiring diagram w/ wiring harness, one thing i dont get is why i gotta hook up the one wire from the switch to a parking lamp wire... i wouldnt have to go through all this trouble if dodge still made the fog light kits for 01-04.. bastards

its not hard wiring. Just trying to mount them in the holes is a pain in the ***.

Pilot makes a kit that is actually quite nice and the lights fit right in the factory location. I replaced the factory fog lights (spider web cracks) with these and just spliced them into the factory harness but the kit comes complete with a harness, relay, fuseand switch with good instructions. Got them at Auto zone for under $50. They have a blue tint to the lenses but put out a very white broad beam. I really like them.

GuessI will give it a try. I will have to cut holes in the plastic part of the bumper in the location where fog lights should go. Prbably use a Dremel tool to route out the holes. Then I suppose make up a set of brackets, and install all of the necessary wiring. PS - I hate wiring too!
