hey my name is matt and i just bought a 2001 dakota rt it already has headers, k&n, and a shift kit. it has 40k miles and i paid $9000 for it i dont know much about it yet except that its slower than my ls1 trans am im just wondering what i can do to it to gain some more power, any advice?

 

Welcome!! Intake and exhaust would be the easiest, manual Tanny,there is also superchargers available, depends how big ya wanna go...

thanks ill get some pics up as soon as i can. i already have intake and exaust and a supercharger is gunna be way too expensive for me....i was thinking about a cam but i dont know how big i should go....another question...some *** with a bone stock 2000 gt mustang wants to race me for money he wouldnt race my TA so im supposed to bring out the dakota on sunday, do i stand a chance?

first off, you dont stand a chance. you will be lucky if the truck runs high 15's. but if you would like to borrow my grand national and give him an a$$ woppin that would be ok. even though it is a truck they dont hook as well as a car. light in the rear. .but after a few mods and some suspension work it will haul a$$

 

i didnt think i stood a chance but he didnt show up anyway...thanks for the offer on the grand national but he wouldnt race my cam/nitrous ls1 TA so he prolly wouldnt race yours either

 

You can do many mods to your truck to squeeze out some more horsepower. They have all been talked about before, so feel free to use the search function and see all the possibilities. Welcome to the forum!
