my dads 96 dakota had 120,000 on it and was still on the origional pads and rotors in front, but his was because he does like 35 miles one way to work on the highway each day so that helped
I'm having the same problem this guy originally posted. I wish he would have followed up with the fix. I will start by servicing the back brakes, as suggested. But I suspect the master cylinder is going. When sitting in the driveway, or sitting at a light for a spell, the brake pedal sinks to the floor. After driving fast, the brake pressure returns. ANY NEW IDEAS ON THIS?
how goes it? Did you ever find a solution to your brake troubles? Im having exactly the same problem. I lose the pedel while stoped. Ive bled the lines, no help.
Still no solution. Will probably replace the rear shoes. I suspect it's the booster though. Pedal doesn't sink while sitting, just not enough power to stop fast/lock brakes.
I'm having this problem too. The bad thing is it's happening post-brake job. I just got new shoes/pads/rotors/drums and I have to stand on my pedal to come to a gradual stop. Never go to Midas!!!
take it back and have them fix it. most likely air in the lines. what I'd recommend is going and getting some synthetic brake fluid and have them flush the lines with it.
