setting up rear gears

Default setting up rear gears

i have a 2000 dakota that i had to replace the pinion gears and the housing. does anyone have any information or tips on reinstalling everything. thank you in advance.

well if you dont shim it right it will howl. most pople set the depth with white paint to determine the overall setting put a dap of white paint on both sets and rotate to see how much bite you have and keep checking by adding or removing the shims untill its perfect. then you need to install the springs and spider gears and what not. but if you get it wrong you will blow the set up.

im having a problem installing the housing with the spider gears in it, we are having problems getting the end caps threaded and the housing in.

did you change the ring and pionion size or go with a replacement? something is out of alignment or a spring has slipped and pushing in the wrong direction

everything is the same size just cant get the housing in
