Default Anyone done ring and pinion gears?

Well, looking to put 4.10's on my 2002 dakota. Just a quick question, to see if I have the right tools to do it myself - what is the gauge block thickness? I need to know the gauge block thickness for the pinion depth tool so it wont be noisy.

Well, both of my uncles are mechanics, so they said we can do it no problem.. they just aren't sure if we have all the right tools. They do them on fords all the time, but neither has done it on a dodge. They said if I can find the gauge block thickness then we'll know if we can do it, or if we have to find someone wtih the right tools.

Could you possibly try to call the place who did yours and find out?

Call a Dodge dealership's service department. They will be able to answer this question for you if no one on here can.
