Default Oil Change?

Just recently got a 99 5.2L Dakota, ready for its first oil change before I take it on a trip. Was wondering how much oil (about) for a oil change. I am coming from a civic that only took 4Q. I am guessing it takes about 5Q but wanted to know how much to buy. Also any recommendations for oil and filter?? Just did a tune up with Champion spark plugs going by what has been posted on the forum (always used the bosch plat in my cars) Any help would be great! Thanks

I use a K&N Oil filter good for up to 3 oil changes, and i use syn Mobil 1, and somtimes Royal Purple, both synthetic.

Mine takes about 5.5Q but i have a 5.9, i thought the 5.2 and 4.7 took 6Q, but i migth be wrong.
