Default headlight problem? anyone else had this happen??

ok, when i start the truck with the tilt wheel up all the way and turn on the headlights to low beam everything is fine. but when i tilt the wheel down just one knotch and ofcourse the rest of the way down it cuts out the low beam and takes it to daytime running lights but i can switch to high beam and everything is fine, but if i go to low beam again and tilt the wheel all the way up the low beams come back on but again if i tilt the wheel at all its cuts out the low beam and goes to daytime running lights??????

could be as simple as a wire shorting out, basically the the insulation on the wire wore away, tru and find the wire and wrap with some electrical tape if its worn and try to keep the wire out of the way of the steering column, or it could be the high beam stalk malfunctioning

ok think i got it fixed... took off the cover on top of the steering wheel and took off the turn signal thing and unpluged the big blue thing to find the purple wire was not attached anymore but i guess when the wheel was all the way up it would touch enough to make a connection.........but now here teh kicker lol theirs another plug on the botttom alot smaller and the white wire on their looks like it was cut clean...no frays like it was rubbed against something or black marks like it was burnt . just looks cleany snipped,,,,just looking for some info before i go reconnecting it and causing more problems. thx guys
