think it would be possible to hook up an alarm system to my dakota w/o the power locks and windows option, i really dont feel like tryin to swap over my doors nor do i want to sell the truck and get another, cause i wanna get the alarm system that has the remote starter

Yes it would. Universal alarms come with instructions for installation with and without power options.

Default RE: aftermarket alarm?

I just installed a remote starter alarm combo on my dakota. It didn't have power locks, but I just installed actuators in the doors to lock and unlock. Any aftermarket shop should be able to install them for you. I know we charge about 99$ per door. If you are mechanicly inclined you could probley do it yourself. It didn't take me long but I have done it several times before. If you want more info let me know.
