Sounds like the height question is covered. The only thing to add is tobe sure what you want in fuel economy. 8.4 mpg sucks, but you probably won't gain a whole lot. It will be better but don't expect 20-22 either. I can't speak too much for the 5.2 but I have the 4.7 in my 02 Quad Cab Dak and get about 13 mpg in town and the 5.9 in my Durango and get about 11-12 mpgin town. Both are 4x4 automatics. I'm not trying to discourage you. I love both of mineand I would not trade them for anything. Justmake sure you research what you are getting in the way of economyversus what you are hoping to get.

 

I get 20-21mpg in my dak. and thats not babying it either.

ever since I bought my truck I got that milage. exept when my O2 sensor crapped out I was down to like 15mpg. I dont even baby it either. maybe my truck likes me

my 88 dak gets 15-16mpg. and I dont baby that thing one bit

 

whats the deal do you live in a flat area of the continent or what, bc im all up and down hills so i would have expected that my mileage is alittle less than normal, and i drive mine like a stock car, it has sooo much power for a v6 that i love driving my truck, just wish that i could get that 20-21 mpg out of her, but i guess not, what kind of mods do u have on ur truck, if any? maybe thats the difference, mines bone stock

 

I live in a pretty hilly place. but I have a cutom intake, dual exhaust, highflow cat, and now I have a superchips programmer so we'll see how it goes after that. I know most V8's get better gas milage then the V6's I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one getting 20-21mpg

 

yea buy my moms durango with the v8 is only getting 14 around town, im doing better than she is, and about the same as my dad, who also drives a dak w/ 3.9 so i dont see how that works out for me, but i guess ill just have to live with it and hope it improves as it gets driven more

 

ya, my moms 01 ram 5.2 gets 15mpg and my gf 03 rango 5.9 gets 12mpg

 

idk hopefully with more use it will go up and i wont have to worry about it as much, and hopefully the price of gas will also come down bc i go through almost a tank a week, which is getting close to $50 a tank at i think 2.42 a gallon last time i filled up but idk y my truck gets such bad gas mileage compared to yours it really seems backward, but whatever
